Open Source Information

I feel that the Open office is a better deal than Microsoft. The only reason you are paying the $100-$300 system is for the name. If you can get it for free and twist it to fit your needs, personal or business, its better than going to jail or getting fined.

How has technology changed the OCLS since i joined? Well, they are competing with other top libraries in the United States. As the modern age takes over the world little by little with advanced technology and making life more easier, the library loses its roll in giving open sources of information to the public. Younger kids are using the Internet for research. Others read books online. It all happens at home. Why should they change that?

The library is doing a good deal in keeping up with technology and with the modern world. Some people still read books and research. Now the library offers computer classes, in English or Spanish, they are doing some anime/manga community groups meetings here. They are keeping up with gaming and technology. Bringing in bands from the town to play here, maybe in hopes of being recognized. The library is doing a lot to keep up and in my opinion they are doing a great job. It will take time to get more people in knowing that we offer this, but someday i think the library will be turned into a technology filled library.
